The drive

MCO to the Ship, Mile by Mile

Out of the airport's north exit, SR 528 — the Beachline Expressway — runs almost dead straight east across the St. Johns River marshland to the Space Coast. Most of the way is a toll road. The price the booking form shows before you pay is all-inclusive for the trip you enter.

Disney Cruise Line

Terminal 8

Cruise lines move ships between terminals from one season to the next, so your cruise documents have the final word. Put the ship and sailing date in your booking and the chauffeur plans the approach to that terminal.

Your transfer day

From Wheels Down to Boarding Pass

  1. Wheels down at MCO

Add your flight number when you book and it is monitored, so a late landing on a booked arrival never turns into waiting charges. Once you are on the ground, the first 15 minutes at the airport are complimentary.

  2. Meet & greet, then the bags

Meet & greet comes with every MCO arrival. You picked the vehicle at booking with your headcount, suitcases and any car seats in mind, so the luggage already has a place before you reach the curb.

  3. One stop on the way

Your transfer includes one stop of up to 30 minutes, added when you book — a supermarket for sunscreen and snacks, or a hotel to collect the rest of your party. A longer stop is billed for the extra time.

  4. Curbside at your terminal

Port Canaveral admits only prearranged, prepaid commercial rides, so yours is confirmed and paid before the day. We take your terminal's entrance and unload at its drop-off curb.

Vehicles Sized for Cruise Luggage

Five vehicles, from a sedan for two to a twelve-seat Sprinter — each chosen for how many people and suitcases are heading to the ship.

Why private

Why Travelers Book a Private Ride to the Port

The cruise starts at the gangway. The 46 miles between a runway and that gangway are the part worth handing to someone else.

  • Permitted at the Port's Curb

Port Canaveral restricts terminal access to prearranged, permitted commercial transport. This service holds permits at the port, at MCO and at Orlando Sanford, so nothing gets negotiated at a gate.

  • Your Party, Your Vehicle

A shared shuttle waits for other flights and stops at other ships. A private transfer leaves when your group is ready and drives to one terminal: yours.

  • Room for Cruise Luggage

Formal nights and a week of swimwear add up. You choose the vehicle at booking against your headcount and suitcases — up to twelve travelers and twelve bags in the Sprinter.

  • Car Seats at No Charge

Up to two car seats and two boosters come free. Ask for them in the booking form.

  • The Total Before You Pay

The booking form shows an all-inclusive rate for your itinerary before you confirm — no meter running east of the airport.

  • A 30-Minute Stop Included

Forgot the swimsuits? Every transfer includes one stop of up to 30 minutes on the way, requested at booking.

Disembarkation day

Coming Home: Port Canaveral Back to MCO

The last morning runs on the ship's schedule. Walk off, gather every bag and get through customs, then call or message your chauffeur — the car is brought in to the pickup zone only once your whole party is off the ship with its luggage.

Port pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary waiting. For the flight home, allow the full drive back plus the airport's own check-in time; the booking form asks for your flight so the pickup can be planned backwards from it.

Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral: Common Questions

How long is the drive from Orlando airport to Port Canaveral?

About 46 miles on SR 528, the Beachline Expressway, and roughly 45 to 60 minutes of driving. Baggage claim, traffic and the queue into the terminal come on top of that, so build in a margin.

How much time should I leave between landing and boarding?

Your cruise line sets the boarding window and the last check-in time, so start there. Add the drive, your wait for checked bags, and a margin for a late flight — many cruisers fly in the day before to remove that risk entirely.

What happens if my flight is late?

Put the flight number in your booking and it is monitored; a delay on a booked arrival does not add waiting charges. After you land, the first 15 minutes of waiting at the airport are complimentary.

Which terminal will you drop us at?

The one printed on your cruise documents. As of 2026, Royal Caribbean's largest ships use Terminal 1, Carnival's Mardi Gras uses Terminal 3 and Disney Cruise Line sails mainly from Terminal 8 — but lines do move ships, so include your ship and sailing date when you book.

Do you provide car seats?

Yes. Up to two car seats and two booster seats come at no charge. Request them in the booking form.

Can we stop on the way to the port?

One stop of up to 30 minutes is included with each cruise transfer — ask for it when you book. Past 30 minutes, the extra time is billed. Travelers use it for drinks, sunscreen or collecting a relative from another hotel.

Do I have to book in advance?

Yes. Port Canaveral only allows commercial transportation that is prearranged and prepaid, and bookings need at least two hours' notice before pickup. The form shows the all-inclusive total before you pay.

How does the pickup work at the port after the cruise?

Book it as its own leg. Once you are off the ship with all your luggage, call or message your chauffeur, who then drives in to the pickup zone. Port pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary waiting.
