Parks first, then the ship

Ending a Walt Disney World stay on the morning your cruise leaves makes for a full day. Suitcases that arrived half empty now hold mouse ears and plush toys, a stroller needs a place, the children are worn out from the last night in the parks, and a boarding window is waiting about 70 miles away on the coast. A private car turns all of that into one move.

The chauffeur meets your party at the entrance confirmed for your resort hotel, the vehicle you picked at booking takes the whole load, and nobody drags a bag through a change of transport. The drive itself runs roughly 60 to 80 minutes; the pickup hour comes from counting back from the check-in slot your cruise line assigned, leaving room for traffic and the queue at the pier. Tell us the hotel, the ship and the sailing date, and the rest is planned around them.

What Lies Between the Resort and the Ship

At about 70 miles, the Disney resort area sits roughly ten miles farther from the port than Universal does. Plan with the top of the driving estimate rather than its bottom.

Disney Cruise Line

Terminal 8

The line's principal berth at Port Canaveral as of 2026. Your boarding documents have the final say.

These are driving estimates from the operator's route figures. Loading at the hotel, a stop, traffic and the approach to the terminal curb are not part of them.

Sail day from the resort

Hotel Lobby to Cruise Terminal

  1. Book around the boarding window

Enter the resort's exact name, the ship, the sailing date and the boarding time your cruise line gave you. The pickup is calculated back from that window, not from when the ship leaves.

  2. Bags down to the entrance

Bring the party and every bag to the entrance named in your confirmation. If checkout drags, the first 30 minutes after the confirmed pickup time cost nothing.

  3. An hour or more east

Count on 60 to 80 minutes of driving. With a stop requested at booking, up to 30 minutes fit in along the way — breakfast, or the pharmacy errand the parks left no time for.

  4. Out at the terminal

The car heads to the terminal printed on your documents and unloads at its drop-off area. The ride was arranged and paid ahead, which is what the port insists on.

Sized for a Park Week's Worth of Bags

Match the vehicle to the luggage leaving the resort, which may be more than what arrived.

Why book the car

A Resort Checkout That Ends at the Gangway

Timed from boarding, not sailing

The pickup hour is set from your cruise line's boarding window plus 60 to 80 minutes on the road, so you can see the margin before paying.

Space for what the parks added

List every case, stroller and souvenir bag when you reserve; the vehicle is matched to the real load instead of guessed at the curb.

A slow checkout is covered

Thirty minutes of waiting at the resort entrance are part of the booking, counted from the confirmed pickup time.

Car seats you don't have to pack

A pair of car seats plus a pair of boosters ride free; note every child's age, weight and the seat each one needs.

Sailing from Terminal 8

As of 2026, Terminal 8 is Disney Cruise Line's main home here. Whatever the line, the drop-off follows your own documents.

Settled before the morning

Before any payment, the form lays out one all-inclusive figure for the trip you entered, and the port only lets in rides settled ahead like this.

Choosing a Pickup Time at a Disney Resort

Start from the boarding time on your sailing paperwork, not the hour the ship leaves. Take away the drive, using the long end of the 60 to 80 minute estimate, then take away a cushion for traffic, the approach roads into the port and the line to hand over bags. If you want to stop for a meal, take that away too. What is left is the time to have everyone standing at the resort entrance. We are glad to run through the numbers with you, but no car service can promise a place in the boarding line; the cushion you build in is what protects the sailing.

Loading a Week of Park Luggage

A park vacation seldom leaves with what it arrived with. Before you confirm, count the large suitcases, the carry-ons, the stroller and any wheelchair or scooter, and put them all on the booking. Oversized items must be declared in advance so the vehicle can be matched to them. A Suburban takes six people and six large cases; a family of seven with a double stroller is better served by the Sprinter, which seats twelve and holds twelve bags. Capacity always depends on the confirmed seating layout and on how big the luggage really is.

Collecting Relatives From a Second Hotel

If grandparents or cousins spent the parks week at a different property, one ride can still bring everybody to the ship. Each cruise transfer allows one detour of no more than thirty minutes, and swinging by another hotel to pick up the rest of the party is a sensible use of it. Ask for it when you reserve and give that hotel's name, so the pickup hour allows for the detour. If the stop runs past half an hour, the extra time is billed, and the vehicle has to fit both groups and all their bags from the start.

Why private

Why Travelers Book a Private Ride to the Port

The cruise starts at the gangway. The 46 miles between a runway and that gangway are the part worth handing to someone else.

  • Permitted at the Port's Curb

Port Canaveral restricts terminal access to prearranged, permitted commercial transport. This service holds permits at the port, at MCO and at Orlando Sanford, so nothing gets negotiated at a gate.

  • Your Party, Your Vehicle

A shared shuttle waits for other flights and stops at other ships. A private transfer leaves when your group is ready and drives to one terminal: yours.

  • Room for Cruise Luggage

Formal nights and a week of swimwear add up. You choose the vehicle at booking against your headcount and suitcases — up to twelve travelers and twelve bags in the Sprinter.

  • Car Seats at No Charge

Up to two car seats and two boosters come free. Ask for them in the booking form.

  • The Total Before You Pay

The booking form shows an all-inclusive rate for your itinerary before you confirm — no meter running east of the airport.

  • A 30-Minute Stop Included

Forgot the swimsuits? Every transfer includes one stop of up to 30 minutes on the way, requested at booking.
