Northbound after the cruise

Most of the long drives out of Port Canaveral head south or west; this one runs north up the coast. It suits passengers who live in or around Jacksonville and would rather not add a flight to the end of a cruise, as well as anyone catching a plane at JAX or joining another ship at JAXPORT. The operator's planning figures are 155 to 170 miles and 180 to 235 minutes of driving, measured to downtown Jacksonville.

Arrival points in the city are widely separated — downtown and Southbank hotels, Jacksonville Beach, the airport and the cruise terminal each need a different final route — so the reservation asks for a full address rather than the city name. The included stop of up to half an hour is a natural moment for lunch somewhere along the way.

Going north

Port Canaveral to Jacksonville by the Numbers

The figures are the operator's estimates to downtown Jacksonville, used as a reference point. The beaches, the airport and JAXPORT each finish differently, and event days can slow the downtown approach.

Driving estimates leave out getting off the ship, the stop, and any terminal or check-in time at JAX or JAXPORT. Treat them as planning figures, not an arrival promise.

Heading home

Four Steps From Cabin to Jacksonville

  1. Give a full address

A street address, the airport with your airline and flight, or JAXPORT with the ship and its deadline — Jacksonville is too spread out for the city name alone.

  2. Wait for the last suitcase

When everyone in the party is off and every bag is accounted for, message or call the chauffeur. The port pickup includes half an hour of waiting.

  3. Stop once for lunch

Around the middle of the drive, or wherever suits, use your free stop, up to 30 minutes long. Food and drinks are paid for separately.

  4. Home, or the next connection

The ride ends at the address on the booking. For a flight or a ship, allow for check-in and terminal access after you arrive.

Vehicles for the Drive North

Why ride privately

Going Home Without Another Flight

Skip the extra flight

For a Jacksonville household, a car from the pier to your door can replace a flight home — no airport, no second baggage carousel.

Addresses, not city names

Beaches, downtown, the airport and the cruise terminal each end differently, so the route is planned to your actual door.

What you can bring into the car

Bring sealed water freely; eating, or drinking alcohol, on the ride needs the booking desk's written okay beforehand, so raise it at booking if the ride crosses a mealtime.

Belted in, children included

Seat belts for all; for the youngest riders, child seats cost nothing, up to two of each type — car seat and booster.

Waiting included at the port

The pickup allows 30 minutes from the confirmed time for a slow disembarkation.

Coordination in Spanish

Plan everything in English or Spanish; mention your preference as you book.

Why Drive Home to Jacksonville?

If you live in Jacksonville and sailed from Port Canaveral, a flight home means another airport, another security line and another luggage carousel at the end of a trip that has already had plenty of queues. A private car trades that for a drive of 180 to 235 minutes that begins when your party is ready and ends at your front door. The luggage goes in once and comes out once. Child seats are free, and the whole party travels together, which makes it a good fit for families and for groups returning to the same neighborhood.

JAX, JAXPORT or Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville's arrival points lie far apart, and the published estimate uses downtown as its reference. A hotel on the Southbank, a house near the beach, the airport and the JAXPORT cruise terminal each need their own final route, so enter the full address or terminal in the booking. If the trip ends at JAX, include the airline and flight; if it ends at JAXPORT for another sailing, include the ship and boarding deadline, and leave time for check-in beyond the drive. Event-day traffic around downtown can affect the approach to some addresses.

Food, Water and Comfort on a Longer Ride

A drive of three hours or more raises practical questions. Seat belts are required for everyone, and there is no smoking or vaping in the vehicle. Sealed water is welcome; food and alcohol need written approval in advance, so if the ride crosses lunchtime, the free half-hour stop is the easier answer. Mention strollers, a wheelchair or any oversized item before the booking is confirmed so the vehicle has room. Passengers with disabilities, and their service animals, are accommodated as required by law.

Why private

Why Travelers Book a Private Ride to the Port

The cruise starts at the gangway. The 46 miles between a runway and that gangway are the part worth handing to someone else.

  • Permitted at the Port's Curb

Port Canaveral restricts terminal access to prearranged, permitted commercial transport. This service holds permits at the port, at MCO and at Orlando Sanford, so nothing gets negotiated at a gate.

  • Your Party, Your Vehicle

A shared shuttle waits for other flights and stops at other ships. A private transfer leaves when your group is ready and drives to one terminal: yours.

  • Room for Cruise Luggage

Formal nights and a week of swimwear add up. You choose the vehicle at booking against your headcount and suitcases — up to twelve travelers and twelve bags in the Sprinter.

  • Car Seats at No Charge

Up to two car seats and two boosters come free. Ask for them in the booking form.

  • The Total Before You Pay

The booking form shows an all-inclusive rate for your itinerary before you confirm — no meter running east of the airport.

  • A 30-Minute Stop Included

Forgot the swimsuits? Every transfer includes one stop of up to 30 minutes on the way, requested at booking.
